OFFICERS
The elected officers of Detachment 1221 serve their fellow Marines and the community with the same dedication and commitment they brought to their military service.
COMMANDANT
CHRIS BUCY
The Commandant serves as the chief executive officer of the detachment, presiding over all meetings and activities.
SENIOR VICE COMMANDANT
CHIP HOPPES
Assists the Commandant and assumes command in the Commandant’s absence. Oversees recruitment and retention.
JUNIOR VICE COMMANDANT
CHELSEA NIELSON
Supports detachment leadership and coordinates special events and detachment gatherings.
JUDGE ADVOCATE
LARRY WALKER
Serves as the legal advisor to the detachment and ensures compliance with the MCL Constitution and By-Laws.
ADJUTANT
CLAUDIA CONRAD
Maintains official record, correspondence and minutes of all detachment meetings.
PAYMASTER
JON CARLISLE
Manages the financial affairs of the detachment, including dues, collections, and disbursements.
CHAPLAIN
DOUG JACKSON
Provides spiritual guidance and leads the detachment in prayer and memorial observances.
SERGEANT-AT-ARMS
TROY STANLEY
Maintains order during meetings and assists with ceremonial duties.
OFFICER ELECTIONS
Officers of Detachment 1221 are elected annually by the membership in accordance with the Marine Corps League Constitution and By-Laws.
Regular members in good standing are eligible to vote and hold office. Elections are held at the monthly meeting in October, and results are announced at the Marine Corps Birthday Celebration. New officers are sworn in during the first monthly meeting of the new year.
